On the eve of the COP28 climate summit, Anastasia Tsvetkova, Director of the Practice for International Cooperation and CSR, highlighted plans to achieve carbon neutrality in Russia and in the EAEU space. 

The report on the topic “The Climate Agenda and its correlation with business now” was presented at the forum “ESG. MONEY. CASE. GOODNESS” in Moscow on November 28, 2023. In her speech, Anastasia Tsvetkova paid special attention to the components of climate policy in Russia, presenting such components as current legislative regulation and low-carbon development strategy, adaptation planning from the point of view of national, sectoral and regional plans for adaptation to climate change, the Sakhalin Experiment, intersectoral energy transition measures, research and development in this area.

Using applied examples, Anastasia Tsvetkova revealed trends in the field of climate strategies in the oil and gas, metallurgical, construction industries, forestry and gave specific examples of climate projects in them.

In addition, Anastasia summarized the specifics of the climate agenda in Asia, spoke about the regulation of offsets in China and shared her knowledge about the prospects for working on climate regulation at the EEC level.

The report also included coverage of opportunities for cooperation with NGOs within climate projects, in particular with the Lake Baikal Foundation, which this year launched a reforestation project in the Baikal Natural Area.
