Anastasia Tsvetkova, Director for Development and International Cooperation of Baikal Communications Group, looked into the best and innovative practices of socially responsible business.

Anastasia was an expert in the nomination “Ecological efficiency”. The jury was presented by Elena Dolgikh, CEO of SGM Agency, Sergey Shevshukov, Advisor to the COO of the Russian Managers Association, Ivan Potravny, Candidate in Economic Sciences, Professor at the Department of Project Management, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Maxim Tselikov, coordinator, “Clean Games”, Moscow. The following projects participated in the nomination:

  • “Environmental initiative to collect waste paper and waste batteries “green space” – Sheremetyevo International Airport;
  • “Reconstruction of single filter station” – Severstal;
  • “Annual environmental volunteer initiative “360 minutes for Baikal” – En+ Group;
  • “Recultivation of tailings dam” – Polymetal International;
  • “Eco-program on remote forest restoration” – Pochta Bank.

Projects varied from investments in upgrading of non-waste production and land restoring to volunteer activities dedicated to waste paper collection with zero budget or to large-scale movements of garbage utilization and environmental education.

The winning project is “Recultivation of tailings dam” by Polymetal International, however, all participating projects were recognized by the jury members as important and having the potential scale for development.

Experts of the section “Ecological efficiency” agreed that within the Year of Ecology in Russia they will keep working on the popularization of responsible production and consumption. Besides, they will attract more companies to the competition and in cooperation with the Russian Managers Association will arrange practice sessions next year.
