On October 25, 2022, the updated composition of the Expert Council on Sustainable Development was approved by the order of Maxim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development. 

The Council activity is aimed at creating conditions for professional and expert discussion with the Russian business community of methods and tools for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as the adaptation of the Russian companies activities to the changing international environment amid the global transition to sustainable development models.

The Expert Council on Sustainable Development includes Russian and international companies and experts in the field of sustainable development. Anastasia Tsvetkova, Baikal Communications Group Director of International Communications and CSR, joined the Council.

During 2022, company representatives participated in the Council meetings, presenting expertise on adaptation to climate change, while Lake Baikal Foundation practices for the Baikal region forests conservation and the artificial intelligence integration for Lake Baikal ecomonitoring and assessing the climate change impact on its ecosystem were included in official documents from the Russian Federation to prepare for the Annual UN Climate Conference.

The Expert Council on Sustainable Development under the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation was established in December 2020 (Order No. 802 of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation dated December 3, 2021).
